My Father ~ My Inspiration

June 6th marks the day my Dad, Woody, transitioned to spirit. He was a patriot and proud military man, so it was fitting that he crossed over on D-Day*.

Throughout my life, my Dad inspired me. He taught me the value of living in the moment, “crossing that bridge when we come to it”, and above all, remaining positive through thick and thin. Being a full-bred Irish Catholic, he prided himself on being a graduate of ‘Blarney Tech’. He possessed the gift of gab and always made others feel comfortable in his presence. As a devout man of faith, he lived by the credo that his savoir always had his back.

Even as the years passed and time took a toll on his health, robbed him of his vision and his hearing, he maintained his ever so positive frame of mind and indomitable spirit.

My Dad was always there for me. He believed in me even when I was unable to believe in myself. He was Johnny-on-the-spot when I needed advice on how to best navigate through unforeseen challenges both personally and professionally and most especially while I was employed in the corporate world.  Through his support, encouragement and grooming, he unknowingly shared his gifts of diplomacy, patience and stage presence, helping me to achieve my goals throughout life. Resurrect Your Own Life with Help from the Afterlife

What is the afterlife, you may be wondering. Merriam-Webster defines it as “an existence after death, a later period in one’s life.” Dictionary.com defines it as “a future life, the later part of a person’s life.” I define it as ‘life after life, from life in the physical form to life in the spirit form’. Some refer to the afterlife as life on the ‘other side’.

Janis Joplin* believes there is no such place as ‘the other side’. How would I know what Janis Joplin believes? I know because she told me so. Yes, Janis contributed her own ‘take’ on success to the many stories included in my book The Spirits Speak on Success. Janis believes there is no such place as ‘the other side’ and goes on to say “the other side is not really the other side – we are very much with you on your side – we are simply in another form – free floating, transparent, energy without matter. We are all one, and we cohabitate together. It is not the other side; it is this side without form.”

Is the afterlife a place or a state of being, or both? Read More

Express Thyself ~ Don’t Repress Thyself

Are you aware of the fact that We, the People, are in the midst of a revolution and your participation is needed? Can you feel the electrified energy calling you forth?

Opinions and thoughts swirling around us are so plentiful it is difficult to maintain a sense of balance, let alone a sense of humor, or decorum.

What do you do in the midst of strife, differences of opinion and the perceived dismantling of our ‘norms’? How do you maintain balance, keep yourself in ‘check’ and find levity in the moment, while simultaneously expressing your opinions and speaking up for yourself, if you are, in fact, self-expressing on a daily basis? How Do I Love Me? Let Me Count the Ways

Customarily the month of February is associated with Valentine’s Day and the expression of love toward your, well, loved one(s). You find ways to express your love through the gifting of flowers, candy and greeting cards, on the ‘appointed’ day.

Why do you limit those expressions of love to only one day (although some of you may show your love and appreciation throughout the year), or why limit those expressions of love to only your loved one(s)?

I have a novel idea… what about expressing that same love to yourself? It is easier to do than you may think, and the consequences of not loving yourself far outweigh the benefits of doing so.

‘Tis the Season to Stress Less

The holiday season appears to have snuck up on me this year. It’s no wonder, given the whirlwind of distractions we, as a collective, have experienced over the past twelve months. It feels as if just the other day we were taking down the Christmas decorations and here it is again ‒ time to string the lights and prepare for a New Year.

I have decided to take the holidays in stride and not go into overwhelm or create needless stress in my life.

Care to make that vow with me? It’s actually a good decision to approach the season with joy in your heart and vow to be stress-less. A decision you are quite capable of putting into action with very little effort.

Pause for a moment and reflect back to the days of yore when you ran yourself ragged and charged through the holidays in a haze. How much do you think you missed out on?

The Spirits Speak – Do You?

Spirits of our dearly departed, our loved ones in heaven, speak up and out on a regular basis. They are constantly reaching out in an attempt to make a connection and when they do connect, they sure do speak up and out!

My business is sustained primarily through ‘word of mouth’ and I know for a fact, many of my clients have been referred to me via their loved ones in spirit, (speaking up and out) of which I am appreciative.

However, we, the ‘collective people’ we, could certainly benefit from more conversations and sharing of feelings.

Not too many people are speaking up and out. Those in spirit are. People… not so much.

Call Your Father

Yes, you read that correctly – call your father. While the recognized phrase may be “call your mother”, call you father has a comforting ring to it, especially when calling your mother is no longer an option, unless of course you place a call to the spirit realm, which is a possibility.

For the sake of this article, I will focus on the value of calling your father, in times of need, or in times or joy.

My mother, Leah’s death was sudden and tragic. It shook me to my core. In addition to sending

me into a state of denial and overwhelming grief, her death stripped me of any and all connection with her (or so I thought at the time). Often I would reach for the telephone to call her, forgetting she would no longer be on the other end of the line, only to put down the receiver. The reminder of her absence would become too much to bear.

The Lightness of Being – Give & Receive the Gift of Forgiveness

Many of us go to the grave harboring resentment and never have an opportunity to say I’m sorry. Believe us when we say as soon as you arrive in the afterlife, there you are.

So what does that mean, you may be thinking?

It means you carry yourself with you wherever you go. What we were unable to ‘work’ on in the flesh, we can work out in the spirit. Our personality, grudges, and love, among many quirks and attributes, remain a part of us in the afterlife.

Many of us have never been given an opportunity to ask for forgiveness, nor offer forgiveness because you will not listen, you cannot hear our voices, we knock yet no one answers. We intend to change all that. We are reaching out and those who choose to listen, hear, and be of service are helping us. Forgiveness is the key to living a rich, rewarding life of happiness. Help us. Help you.”
