Sign, Sign, Everywhere a Sign

My mother loved to garden and delighted in sharing her passion and the fruits of her labor. She was in “heaven” every time she was care-taking her little corner of the world. While she walked this earth plane she taught me well and continues to teach me from heaven above.

So, for me to find flowers here and there, mostly in the oddest of places, comes as no surprise. I may be walking along a city street, or sashaying across a parking lot … when my eyes are drawn to a colorful flower (usually of plastic persuasion) right smack dab in my path. I smile as I bend down to pick it up and always chuckle “Thanks Ma!”

Just last week I found a small yellow flower from the plant of a mum I had purchased for a friend the week before. It was on the floor of my car where I had been stepping into, driving and stepping out of for a week. Little did I know when I found it, I would be in for a harrowing ordeal just days later, when our beloved dog, Buddy, ran into complications at his vet and was rushed to intensive care where he fought the “good fight” for a week. A miracle saved his life. The power of prayer is magnificent.

In retrospect, I believe the yellow flower was a sign from my mother. She had placed it at my feet to remind me of her presence.

What signs do you receive from your loved ones? Do they come to you in the form of something tangible? Perhaps as a song? A red cardinal? A yellow butterfly? You may want to pay attention to those signs so as not to miss out on an opportunity to make a connection. Our loved ones are always reaching out. Will you be ready when they do?
