Wisdom of the Ages

There are so many lessons to be learned from the spirit realm. Lessons we were either unable to ‘take in’ when our parents attempted to teach us many moons ago – or lessons we were not ready to learn when our grandparents walked this earth plane wishing to share their experience and advice.

It is however, refreshing to know it is never too late to learn and yes, my dear, it is never too late to gain wisdom and guidance from those who went before us.

During a recent session my client’s mother, in spirit, comforted her daughter by apologizing for dismissing her dream – the dream her daughter had as a child, of changing the world through a heartfelt humanitarian act. Her mother explained she was not equipped, nor did she have the means to put that dream into motion, and so it was dismissed. Plain and simple. Case closed. Good news is my client never dismissed her dream, though she did bury it deep within. Read More

It May Just be Time

“What goes around comes around.” A double-edged sword or a beautifully wrapped gift?

When you hear that expression, what thoughts run through your mind?

I am often reminded of how those who have gone before me have set the stage. I carry on in the likeness of my parents, grandparents, great grandparents and so on. Doesn’t it only make sense – if their blood runs through my veins, that I would have inherited their beliefs?

My past influences my future. Who I am influences who I will become.

What if who I am is not in alignment with the present – the here and now?

Write It Off or Wrap It Up

This month of May, for me, could be characterized as either a write-it-off or a wrap-it-up. The beauty is, it is whatever I choose it to be. The month began with a mild backache which, within no time at all, became a full-fledged show-stopper, reducing me to a writhing and screaming in pain, flat-on-my back woman.

Thankfully I have not experienced a great deal of pain in my lifetime. This was an eye-opening experience. While I do not recall a specific situation or movement which may have triggered this, I am left wondering if this event has anything to do with our collective balance being challenged on a daily basis.

Louise Hay suggests the hips carry the body in perfect balance and serve as a major thrust in moving forward. Did the challenge to my mental balance create a perfect storm which affected my physical balance? The body is clever in that regard. Read More

April Showers

Along with the flowers the showers of April bring, the month of April also brings the taxman. For many, thoughts of “the taxman cometh” also brings upon a great deal of stress. Lately, the collective stress level is rising, be it due to the tax man or our current state of affairs. And while many of us welcome good stress, eustress, that which has a positive impact on us, challenges the brain and body and helps us to do our very best; we simply become unraveled when we find ourselves overwhelmed with a case of bad stress, distress, that negative stress, which, over time can lead to ill health. We all know what that feels like, we have all experienced it at one time or another, can’t find your car keys and you’re already late, not prepared for a meeting and the boss is waiting, can’t stand your job, but you must go to work, dealing with a divorce, or illness in the family … what’s a person to do?

Connection and Balance

Quieting the mind is no small feat especially given all the chaos which has been erupting as of late.

Patience wears thin.

Stress levels rise.

People are at odds with those they were once simpatico.

Cats on a hot tin roof.

The plug or energetic connection is plugged in then disconnected, then plugged in again and disconnected again.

The disconnection is unsettling and frustrating. Read More

Your Love Story

Everyone loves a good love story, but does your love story include you?

Over the years I have learned that a majority of women do love truly, madly, deeply when it comes to others, but not so much when it comes to themselves. They find the idea to be quite novel.

Many women have a difficult time with the thought of loving themselves, It’s as if they are either unable to understand the concept or accept their own love. While others capitalize on the self-love, embrace their strengths and soar. I find the disparity fascinating and encouraging.

I am encouraged by the number of women, who, when they dip their toes into the waters of self-care and self-love, are amused, tickled pink and grateful. Their self-esteem blossoms and their confidence increases. Read More

Regret or Release?

I just walked into my office and the Boyz II Men/Mariah Carey song One Sweet Day came on. That song has deeply touched me since its release which was shortly after the death of my mother.

However, today, the opening and closing lyrics: Sorry I never told you all I wanted to say…prompted me to stop and think about those of you who may be living those lyrics.

I think about those of you who are sorry because you were never given the opportunity to say all – or any – of what you may have wanted to say to a loved one who left this earth plane before you had the chance. That, for me, is a halting thought. I cannot fathom what it must feel like to never have been able to say all you wanted to say. Read More

(If Only) In My Dreams

“There’s no place like home for the holidays and no matter how far away you roam, if you want to be happy in a million ways, for the holidays you can’t beat home sweet home.”

I love that sentiment. Come to think of it – who will you be hosting this holiday season? Will your table include a place setting for your dearly departed loved ones? If that thought has not yet crossed your mind please allow me to share with you…

Our ancestors and loved ones in spirit enjoy the festivities and the warm and loving feelings which are amplified during this season of peace, love and joy. They take great pleasure in sitting by the fireside, keeping company with their loved ones and rejoicing in the simple pleasures of family, togetherness and happiness.

Grateful and Determined

The Timeliness of the Turkey

I am grateful to the turkey for its courage, wisdom and strength. It is precisely the energy and wisdom we need to help us navigate through these trying times.

The turkey has always been a powerful spiritual symbol for many North American tribes.
In addition to symbolizing abundance and generosity, turkeys are seen as messengers from the spiritual world, offering guidance in various aspects of life.

Female turkeys are known for their protective nature and are considered symbols of fertility, protection, abundance and connection to Mother Earth. Read More
